YOSEMITE VALLEY  (1903)
Mixed media on canvas
30" X 40"

$5200

The view of Yosemite from Inspiration Point, as you come upon the valley after leaving the San Joaquin flatlands, is spectacular.    Bridal Veil Falls is on the right, the monument of El Capitan on your left, and straight ahead the magnificent valley spreads with Half Dome peaking out in the distance.    The blue-green arabesque moving though the center represents the meandering Merced River which is not visible in the actual view.    I compressed the space, compositionally, and gave the scene a liveliness, energy and movement that the valley inspires in me.
