I grew up in Southern California and much time was spent travelling the Hollywood Freeway.    This painting presents more of feeling about the experience than an actual scene.    I wanted to capture the bustle of traffic and a multi-perspective view of Hollywood and the Hollywood hills---Mediterranean-style villas and vintage apartment buildings.    The grid of the city is presented as if reading a roadmap.   Pure invention!
