| This is inspired by legend, Billie Holiday. It really isn't a likeness; it is an attempt to capture her complex spirit. I never tire listening to her; her interpretations are forever fresh because they are so honest. You feel she is constantly transparent; her expression and her spirit are one. Her friend Lester Young coined the name 'Lady Day.' |
